About
Since its founding in 1919, the Willow Oak Fire Protection District (WOFPD) has proudly served the rural Woodland community and the greater Yolo County area.
WOFPD operates as a combination department, employing full-time career fire staff supplemented by reserve and volunteer firefighters to meet operational needs. Station 7 is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, typically with:
- 1 Career Officer
- 1 Career Engineer
- 1 to 2 Reserve Firefighters
Volunteers respond from work or home to staff additional apparatus or provide extra coverage as needed.
With a diverse fleet of apparatus across two stations, WOFPD is equipped to manage any emergency. All personnel are professionally trained to handle:
- Structure and wildland fires
- Rescues
- Motor vehicle accidents
- Medical emergencies
- And more
Beyond daily duties, WOFPD actively participates in regional training exercises with neighboring agencies to promote strong partnerships and ensure seamless coordination during multi-agency incidents.
