Board of Commissioners Vacancy

The Willow Oak Fire Protection District is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on its Board of Commissioners.

The vacancy was created by the resignation of a Board Commissioner effective July 3, 2026. Pursuant to California Government Code Section 1780, the Board of Commissioners intends to fill the vacancy by appointment. The selected applicant will serve the remainder of the term, which expires April 1, 2030.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be a resident of the Willow Oak Fire Protection District
  • Own property within the Willow Oak Fire Protection District

About the Board

The Board of Commissioners serves as the governing body of the District and is responsible for:

  • Establishing District policies
  • Providing oversight of District finances and budgets
  • Supporting the delivery of fire protection and emergency services
  • Ensuring the District's continued ability to serve the community

Commissioners are expected to attend regular and special meetings, review agenda materials in advance, and actively participate in District governance.

Commissioners must also comply with applicable state requirements, including:

  • Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
  • Fiscal and Financial Management Training
  • Annual Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) filings
